Gabrielle & Peter's Clean & Modern Detroit Wedding

Working with Gabrielle and Peter throughout their wedding planning journey was such a treat. Gabby and I bonded instantly and truly felt like long time friends getting together to catch up at our monthly check ins. Plus, Gab and I both enjoy a glass (or three) of wine and that always added to the fun of our consultations.

As a couple, Gabrielle and Peter were playful, loving, powerful and thoughtful. They are both loved by so many Excuse me, have you SEEN their giant bridal party? The evidence is right there! Gabby is the life of the party and Peter is a bit more reserved, so they balance each other out nicely and you can truly see how into each other they are. I remember in one of my first meetings with Gabby she said that Peter was the hunkiest guy she’s ever seen. I always thought that was so incredibly sweet and funny!

Gabrielle came in with a vision for the day - clean color palette and modern lines mixed with elegant, classic touches. She was speaking my language. I got to work putting together a mood board and we were off to the races.

For the design of Gabrielle and Peter’s modern and clean reception, the focus was on crisp, contemporary colors like bright white, dusty rose along with light an dark shades of green and blue. The quicksand roses and crisp white hydrangeas and gorgeous anemones created the perfect balance to the bright green dianthus used throughout Gabby’s floral design by Twigs and Branches.

A few of my favorite touches to the reception decor was the amazing watercolor cake design by Sweet Heather Anne, the amazing illustration of Gabby and Peter with their cat done by Amanda McKey Designs and the stunning mirrored seating chart with calligraphy by M.B. Calligraphy. The head table was HUGE and was a key area of the design. We played up this area by adding hanging orbs with green dianthus in them at different levels behind the head table and the gorgeous blue goblets for the bridal party which were both provided by Twigs and Branches.

Seeing their special day come together and being surrounded by their loving friends and family was such a pleasure! Today I’m sharing some of the highlights from the day which were all captured by Justine Castle! Hope you enjoy :)
